Meet Edward “Ed” Morris

After successfully completing his education at Xavier University and Tulane Law School Ed Morris has committed his decades- long- professional career to the provision of exemplary legal representation for both civil plaintiffs and defendants as an attorney at the law firms of Herman, Herman Katz and Cotlar, and, Adams and Reese, respectively.  Most recently, he spent 11 years as General Counsel for the Orleans Parish School Board. In that role, he was able to combine his legal aptitude with his desire to serve the residents of his beloved home town, New Orleans.

Ed began his commitment to service as a teenager working with the NAACP Youth Council. Those early days in the civil rights movement, greatly influenced his life-long commitment to community activism and faith-based community service. He has worked independently and with organizations, including, but not limited to: The Jeremiah Group, Project Return, New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation, and the Ponchartrain Park CDC.  And, in 2009 he became an ordained minister.

Ed is a life-long resident of New Orleans, a husband of 40 years, a father of two adult daughters, a doting grandfather of four, and a community servant.  He demonstrates his values daily as he quietly serves those in need with kindness and dignity.
